One of the priorities for the Geraldton Chamber is to create events where the local businesses can communicate and network with each other. The main idea for the Business Gala Awards was to create a social networking event for the businesses of Geraldton to celebrate their successes throughout the previous year. This will also provide a small amount of friendly competition for the business community. 



There are Seven Award Categories with winners selected based on the following criteria:

Business Excellence Award

The Business Excellence Award is presented to the company that demonstrates true business excellence.  This company has advanced economically and financially through sales and growth.  They are leaders in providing employment capabilities for the Geraldton area, and continue to improve on employee relations and are actively involved in community affairs.

Customer Service Award

This company delivers exceptional service in their dealings with customers and educates and encourages their staff to improve and excel in matters of customer relations.  This award is presented to the business that goes up and beyond expectations of a high level of customer service in a small town.

Community Spirit/Support Award

The Community Spirit Award is presented to the company that demonstrates the highest level of support for the Geraldton community.  This company provides support either through everyday business decisions or through additional support to the growth of the community as a whole.

Geraldton Gold Award

The Geraldton Gold Award is provided to a company who goes above and beyond regular expectations of an dependable business ie: opening on a Sunday when not part of regular business hours, being on call 24 hours a day and sacrificing their personal time to serve the community This company will go out of their way to provide additional advice and service to their clientele which helps provide peace of mind and help local residents through everyday living.

Young Entrepreneur/Leader Award

The young entrepreneur/Leader award is presented to an individual under the age of 40 who represents a local business or organization and shows exceptional leadership qualities.  This young leader must also show leadership through community involvement and must be a strong supporter and contributor of economical growth in the town of Geraldton.

Business Man of the Year Award

This award is presented to the male individual who own or manages a company and demonstrates true business excellence.  This individual businessman has shown growth in the community in which they operate and demonstrate leadership in community involvement and support.  They must provide local employment and continue to expand operations to develop economical growth for the town of Geraldton

Business Woman of the Year Award

This award is presented to the female individual who owns or manages a company and demonstrates true business excellence.  This individual businesswoman has shown growth in the community in which they operate and demonstrate leadership in community involvement and support.  They must provide local employment and continue to expand operations to develop economical growth in the town of Geraldton.
